Welcome to Newman Center / Holy Spirit Hawaii Catholic Ministries - Serving Christ through service to others.
Newman Center/Holy Spirit is the Catholic ministry entrusted to the Jesuits by the Diocese of Honolulu as a center for the university community and young adults throughout Hawaii, and as a parish for all who choose Newman as their faith community.
Together we are a Spirit-filled, intentional, inclusive community that:
1. celebrates vibrant liturgies
2. nurtures spiritual, social and transitional growth
3. offers opportunities for faith development
4. stimulates critical thinking and dialogue on academic and contemporary issues challenging Christian living
5. cooperates with other faith communities to carry out mutual ministries
6. commits to a living faith that does justice
7. proclaims and celebrates the Good News of Jesus Christ
We serve in a spirit of joy and collaboration that fosters a community of openness, love, and support, We invite the contribution of gifts in stewardship and evangelism, and challenge one another in the same manner that Jesus challenged his followers: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
